We are a small business located on a property with a deep well in Halfmoon Bay. Suncoast have worked alongside us over the years to ensure we continually have good, safe drinking water. They began helping us by installing a tank to reduce arsenic levels to meet new government guidelines. As well as arsenic, we have relatively higher than normal levels of hydrogen sulphide and alkaline that affect the arsenic equipment. Ongoing additional testing and equipment installation has allowed us to consistently balance all these challenges to maintain safe levels. As well as this, our 25-year-old well pump broke down 180 feet under the ground with no notice! Shaun, Alex and the team responded to this emergency urgently to ensure we had the minimum disruption with no water.

Suncoast have been professional, reliable and personable, providing regular ongoing service and support for us right here on the Sunshine Coast.

I wanted to let you know how much we have appreciated Alex coming and looking at our pump, and far from telling us we would need a brand new pump installed, he said our existing pump was working just fine. The only reason it was quitting from time to time was because we were drawing down the water; using so much water means that the pump has to periodically stop and wait for the well to fill up again! I’ve taken my jet pumps to Suncoast Waterworks for servicing over several years. I really like this company. I always receive friendly service from Shaun, the owner, as well as from his employees. All staff members, including the service technician, are willing to give advice both in the shop and over the phone. That has saved me a lot of money on expensive service calls to my home in Pender Harbour.

I also appreciate the good communication from Shaun and the fact that he keeps his promises. For example, last Monday, he told me that he needed to order a new capacitor for my pump and would have it towards the end of the week. However, on Tuesday, he phoned me while I was on the ferry from Vancouver to tell me he had the part and my pump was ready to go. That call meant I was able to pick up the pump in Sechelt within the hour while on my way up the Coast.

Best of all, every time I’ve taken a pump to Suncoast Waterworks for repairs it has worked perfectly after I have reinstalled it. I’ve never had to go back to them to re-do something. The only improvement I could suggest is that they post the hourly shop rate on the wall of the showroom. Different employees seem to have different ideas as to what that rate is. That’s a very minor problem.

And overall, Suncoast Waterworks gets an “A” rating from me.
